Back in 1995 in New Orleans, Peter founded his own BBQ Catering Company, ‘Hurricane BBQ’. This is where his love for seasonings with real flavour came from, so he decided to make his own.His first original rub was named after his BBQ business ‘Hurricane BBQ’.In 2002 when he moved back to England, he noticed a huge gap in the market for low salt but high flavoured rubs, so this gap he felt he had to fill. After working in the culinary industry for almost 20 years, Awesome Spices was formed.We launched our products in 2019. With the growth & popularity of BBQing, the business has gone from strength to strength. Our product line is expanding, with better recipes and lots more ideas to be developed and perfected.
